The Factory Awards 2015 Trade Foundation Bursary

Posted by - June 25, 2015 - Factory Trade Foundation, News

2015 Trade Foundation Bursary

Last night at our annual Downtown After 5 evening at The Factory, the team awarded its second Factory Trade Foundation bursary to a hard working student at Okanagan College. In front of a packed house (we had over 280 guests!), The Factory and the Okanagan Trade Foundation presented Diana Charles a $2,500 bursary to help with tuition and books.

Diana is a first year student in the Carpentry & Joinery program in trades & apprenticeship department at Okanagan College. Each year, the selection committee carefully evaluates each applicant based on the following criteria: financial need, commitment and passion for his/her trade, and career ambitions. Congratulations Diana!

All donations of $20 or more receive a tax credit and 100% of donations go directly to the Factory Trade Foundation. As a group, The Factory is excited to give back to our community by supporting and encouraging future leaders to excel. We would like to thank the Okanagan Trade Foundation and  The Factory members, clients and friends that donated to the foundation to help Diana with her studies.

The Factory Collaboration: Transitional Contemporary

Posted by - December 5, 2014 - News, Project Profile

The Factory was created to bring together the best services and products for home and commercial building projects. We love the opportunity to collaborate on projects, helping builders, interior designers and homeowners achieve their design and build vision.

Three Factory companies recently completed a beautiful kitchen renovation in Upper Mission, Kelowna. Designed by Laura Cruse from V6B Design Group, “Transitional Contemporary” is an example of collaboration and excellence.

Design Vision

To design and build a contemporary kitchen with improved usability, understated storage and integrated appliances.

3. Walk-in pantry: Integrating it with overall design.

Opening Reception for New Art Exhibit

Posted by - November 27, 2014 - Events, News

ARTE Funktional is hosting an opening reception for a new art exhibit entitled Impassioned Abstraction. Join us at The Factory on Thursday, December 4th from 5-8 PM for mingling, food, drinks and discussion.

Art Exhibit in Kelowna

Impassioned Abstraction features two artists, Michelle Sorensen and Barry Rafuse. Michelle Sorensen is an artist from Vernon, BC that creates beautiful glass sculptures. Her sought-after artwork gently transmits light and uniquely balances fragility and strength.

Barry Rafuse is a celebrated Canadian textured abstract painter. Using large canvases, his artwork is dramatic and mysterious. Grounded in the natural environment, unstructured texture and colour dance together to create inspiring art.

To join us for the opening reception, please RSVP by email at info @ artefunktional.com (no spaces). We hope to see you there!

Impassioned Abstraction will be on exhibit at The Factory in Kelowna from December 3, 2014 to March 27, 2015. For additional information, visit www.artefunktional.com.
